My Dearest Friend Karen, words cannot express just how much you will be missed. It has been such a privilege yet so painful to be by your side throughout the journey that no one should ever have to endure. Least of all you. From our first meeting at school to your final hours we have been connected through the years. You have been a true friend; brave, beautiful, kind, caring, supportive - the words are just endless. You have been there for me and everyone around you always, despite your own struggles. You have taught me so much about love, the fragility of life and the importance of being the best friend anyone could ever wish for. I will never find another you, but I will use your inspiration to try to be a better me. I will try to find a way to carry on without you and smile amidst the pain as you did. I know it won’t be easy, but I know it’s what you would want for me and everyone touched by your presence. I will take Tara for the walks we talked of doing on the trip we talked of but never got round to ....and I know you will be there with me.
